Envelope Liners by Vicki

Hey, craft-lovers! My name’s Vicki and I’m so thrilled to tell you that I have been chosen for the Simply Stamps design team!

Simply Stamps isn’t just your ordinary stamp site. While they have traditional rubber stamps, they also carry everything else under the stamper’s sun like self-inking stamps and a variety of ink pads. They can also make just about any custom stamp you can dream up!

For my first design team project, I went with something that adds the last little touch to greeting cards. I believe the envelope should be just as special as the card itself.
1 January 26cSo I created envelope liners! And there’s one for everyone occasion – from birthdays to sympathy and even pineapples just for fun!

1 January 26aI started by creating a template for the envelope liners and cut out six.  I chose to use copy paper to keep the envelope light.  Often times my homemade cards can weigh quite a bit more than your traditional greeting card, so the last thing I want is for the envelope to cost me more when sending. 😉

After I cut out the templates, I stamped the copy paper with different stamps from Simply Stamps. These are all of the stamps I used:

With Sympathy

Happy Birthday

Victorian Pineapple Stamp

Sunflower Stamp

Corn Stalk Stamp

I then added color with a sponge and colored ink to the base of the liner. I used the Color Box Archival Dye Inks  – Nice and juicy, and fabulous. These are the colors I used:

Geranium

Seattle Sky

Lilac

Hunter Green

Putty

I finished the envelopes with my personalized Printer 15 Self Ink Return Address Stamp.

I love these envelope liners as they really do add that nice finishing touch! Eventually, I’ll make matching cards for each envelope, but that will be another project! 🙂

That’s it for my first design team project.  I hope you liked it! You can check out Simply Stamps’ array of fun products for crafty, DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike here.
