Hi everyone and happy Tuesday!
This project was inspired by April the giraffe, who is expecting a new baby! It seems as though everyone I know is anticipating the birth of this new giraffe. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can find the live stream by searching for “baby giraffe watch”. Anyways, I thought now would be the perfect time to use this amazing craft stamp from Simply Stamps designed by Karmabee. I absolutely love the intricate designs in the giraffe!
To start this project, I took a few post-it notes and glued them together. Next, I used the giraffe craft stamp and black ink and stamped the post-it note.
I cut out the giraffe impression, creating a mask.I then stamped the giraffe onto a white piece of card stock.
I carefully laid the giraffe mask over the impression on the white card stock.
Next, I used my Polka from Brutus Monroe stencil and placed it over my image. I used the Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers inks from Ranger Distressed Ink to sponge color over the stencil. I then re-positioned the stencil and added a layer of Twisted Citron.
After removing the mask, I added a little color to the giraffes with my Zig Clean Color markers.
Finally, I stamped my “Happy Everything” sentiment at the bottom-center of the giraffes. If you’ve ever wanted a specific sentiment you couldn’t find – Simply Stamps is the solution to your problem! They make creating your customs stamps easy.
Here’s what my finished card looked like:
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s tutorial! Have a great day!
