How to Make a Valentine’s Card by Jeanne

Hi everyone! Happy Valentine’s Day and thanks for joining me once again here at Simply Stamps University.

Today I’ll be sharing a quick and easy Valentine’s Day card tutorial! This card comes out beautifully and can be made with things most of us have in our homes already! This technique is called a crayon resist technique and once I show you how I did it, you’ll be amazed just how easy it is. So let’s get started!

For this project, you’ll need watercolor paper, a crayon and a sentiment stamp of your choice. First, I drew a few simple hearts onto the water color paper using  a white crayon.

I then painted over the crayon hearts with watercolors and let the cards sit to dry.

Once they were dry, I used a damp paper towel and gently wiped the excess watercolor paint from the crayon hearts.

I let my cards sit for a little while once again and when they were dry I stamped my sentiment. I chose to use my custom-ordered I LOVE YOU Hashtag Rubber Stamp from Simply Stamps using a simple, black ink.

These cards were so simple to use! They’re perfect for a last-minute Valentine card and the handmade feel is sure to make your valentine smile.
