How to Make a Gift Bag by Pam

Hi and thanks for stopping by Simply Stamps University! Today, I’ll be showing you how to dress up a plain gift bag with this Elegant Elephant craft stamp designed by Karmabee. I designed this gift bag for a baby shower for a girl and putting it together was very simple but really fun!

When I was looking through Simply Stamps craft stamps, this elephant stamp caught my eye immediately! I loved how different it was for any other stamp I own.

Before I began this project, I created a greeting card using this stamp with a completely different theme. It had dark red and gold colors, and had more of a tribal feel. It came out beautifully, but when I showed it to one of my fellow craft-lovers, she told me how the elephant stamp inspired her! It was completely different from what I had done, but I loved the ideas. After some brainstorming, I found this pretty pink bag and found my inspiration!

Gift Bag Supplies:

• Plain pink gift bag
• Elegant Elephant Craft Stamp
• Light pink ink
• White cardstock
• Die cutting machine and steel die
• White ribbon
• Light pink fibers
• Scrapbook Adhesive
• Dimensional Tape
• Glitter Glue

Here’s what I did:

1. Before I started decorating the bag, I used the Cuttlebug and a steel die to cut out a fancy background shape the stamp would later be adhered to. I used white card stock for this.
2. Next, I stamped my elephant stamp using a light pink ink onto white card stock.
3. I cut out the elephant with scissors.
4. Next, I adhered the background shape to the bag with scrapbook adhesive.
5. Using dimensional tape, I attached the elephant to the bag.
6. Next, I added some ribbon to the handle of the bag.
7. Finally, I added some glitter glue to make certain parts of the elephant stamp pop.
