Set at a jaunty diagonal, this leaf is split deeply along both edges into finger-like sections, with small openings tucked between them. A thin stem curves away from the base, adding a sense of movement. The splits are uneven in depth, which keeps the leaf looking natural rather than stenciled.
The slant makes it great for patterned wrapping paper: stamp it in rows, turning the paper a quarter turn now and then, and the leaves look like they are tumbling across the sheet. A single leaf in the corner of a summer invitation adds a breezy touch.
