Monika of Salt & Paper
Salt & Paper is the playful world of illustrator and stamp maker Monika. She is known for hand-drawn illustrations and hand-carved rubber stamps, and for a style that finds room for a little whimsy in ordinary things.
That is what drew us to her work. This collection takes her original artwork and puts it on stamps built to be used every day, for years.

Who is Salt & Paper?
Salt & Paper is the studio of illustrator and stamp maker Monika, known for hand-drawn artwork and hand-carved rubber stamps with a colorful, whimsical feel. This collection brings her original illustrations to Simply Stamps, manufactured in our Jacksonville, Florida facility. Read more about the collection HERE.
Are these designs hand drawn?
Yes. Every design started as original hand-drawn artwork by Monika. We convert her illustrations into stamp dies without altering the character of the linework, so the finished impression keeps the hand-drawn quality of the original.
Can I personalize my stamp?
Yes. Most designs include customizable text fields so you can add your name, address, or a short message alongside the illustration. Enter your details on the product page and you will see a live preview of your impression before adding it to your cart.
What is the difference between wood handled and self-inking?
A wood handled stamp is used with a separate ink pad, which lets you switch ink colors as often as you like and gives you more control over pressure and placement. A self-inking stamp has an ink pad built into the body, so it re-inks itself with every impression and is faster for stamping in volume.
If you plan to use one color for a large batch, choose self-inking. If you want flexibility with color, choose wood handled.
How do I keep my stamp clean?
Detailed illustrations pick up ink buildup in the fine lines over time, which can soften the impression. A quick clean after heavy use keeps those details sharp. Our Stamp Cleaner Kit includes a cleaning solution and a textured scrub pad made for getting into the recesses of the die, which a cloth or paper towel cannot reach.
Spray the pad, rub the inked die across it, then blot on the dry side and let the stamp dry fully before you use it again. If you are switching ink colors on a wood handled stamp, clean between colors so the previous color does not carry over.
What ink colors are available?
Self-inking models are available in black, blue, red, green, and purple. Wood handled stamps ship without ink, so you can pair them with any pad you like. Browse our ink pads and accessories to build a set.
How large will my impression be?
Impression size varies by design and stamp body. Rectangular designs run approximately 1-3/8" by 3" on the wood handle and 1-1/2" by 3" on the large self-inking body. Round designs are offered at 2" and 1-5/8". Exact dimensions are listed on each product page.
How long will my order take?
Every stamp is made to order, and most orders ship the next business day. Delivery time after that depends on the shipping method you pick at checkout, from 1 to 2 business days on Rush up to 4 to 7 on Economy.

How do I care for my stamp?
Store your stamp out of direct sunlight and clean the die with a damp cloth or stamp cleaner when you switch ink colors. Self-inking pads can be re-inked or replaced when impressions start to look faint, so the stamp keeps working long after the first pad wears out.
