Leaves & Foliage
Fall leaf designs take center stage here, alongside ferns and greenery for every other season. Stamp a Classic Maple Leaf as a place-card accent, scatter Rounded Oak Leaf prints across a thank-you card, or line up Fern Frond stamps for a harvest-table garland. Warm brown, orange and red inks suit the autumn designs. For more of the season, browse Fall & Harvest or Houseplants & Succulents.
Working with Leaf Stamps
Leaves are the most flexible stamps in the botanical collection: they fill gaps between flowers, frame a greeting, or stand alone as the design. The shapes cover classic fall outlines such as Classic Maple Leaf, Three-Lobed Toothed Leaf and Star-Shaped Palmate Leaf, plus greenery like Leafy Branch Sprig, Feathered Frond and Fanned Grass Spray.
Ideas for fall and beyond
- Thanksgiving place cards: one leaf per card, with each guest's name written across it.
- Autumn wreath: stamp eight to ten leaves in a ring, turning each one slightly, for a door sign or card front.
- Wedding and shower greenery: Leafy Branch Sprig in sage ink frames a monogram or date.
- Gift wrap: scatter Veined Heart Leaf prints across kraft paper in two or three colors.
Getting crisp vein lines
Leaf veins are fine lines, so smooth cardstock and an evenly inked stamp matter more here than anywhere. Tap the pad onto the stamp rather than pressing the stamp into the pad, and lift straight up after each press.
Leaf Stamp Questions
How do I make a multicolored autumn leaf?
Ink the stamp in yellow first, then dab orange or red onto just the tips with a small sponge or a second pad held face down. Press as usual. The colors blend on the stamp itself and print as a single leaf with a natural shift from one tone to the next. Clean between batches.
How do I stamp a leaf garland for a harvest table?
Cut a long strip of kraft paper or cardstock, then stamp leaves along it in a gentle wave, alternating two or three shapes and colors. Punch holes at each end for twine. For a hanging garland, stamp individual leaves on card, cut them out, and string them together.
Can leaf stamps be used outside of fall?
Yes. In green or sage ink, ferns and sprigs suit spring weddings, baby showers and garden party invitations, and a single leaf makes a calm, all-season thank-you card. Save the reds and oranges for autumn, and switch to fresh greens the rest of the year.
